Our latest case study looks at Neumob customer GAIN Capital, a UK-based global leader in mobile and online CFD who serve active traders and institutions with a variety of products, technologies and services. Neumob was provided with the opportunity to accelerate several of the core mobile apps under their umbrella, including popular financial trading apps like City Index, Forex.com and others.
GAIN Capital had witnessed the expansion of its financial trading customer base across the UK and Europe and deep into Asia’s financial hubs in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and elsewhere — and knew that its mobile apps would need to perform smoothly and quickly, everywhere. The company knew that Asia, and its relatively slower 2G/3G mobile networks, might create challenges for its customers in those markets, and wanted to ensure that its apps performed to allow clients to trade without any reduction in performance. They turned to us for help.
Neumob’s app acceleration SDK boosted app speed, with the City Index app benefitting from 61% faster performance in Singapore, with a 99% speed improvement in Malaysia — while even clocking a 43% speed boost on robust (yet crowded) mobile networks in the UK.
The City Index app even saw a total increase in performance across all global HTTPS traffic of 262%, which is enough to dramatically reduce timeouts and app disconnects that could contribute to suboptimal customer experience.
With speed enhanced across Asia, Europe and the UK, GAIN Capital VP and Head of Trading Platforms Development Rekhender Dhawan says that his customers are seeing a “much-improved user experience, and enhanced speed in executing their trades”. He’s found that “Neumob has given us more confidence in our abilities to scale overseas and in our home markets, as latency and disconnects are now less of a potential issue for our customers”.
